Create an Upwork Campaign

Create an Upwork Auto Apply Campaign

  1. Login to Big Brain and navigate to Create an Upwork Campaign.

  2. Give your campaign a name to describe what you're targeting. IE Growth Hacking

  3. Input your search term. This field is used to search the Find Work page on Upwork.

  4. Set your hourly budget requirements. Jobs outside of this range will be filtered out.

Some jobs do not set an hourly range and are open to discussing their hourly budget. The "Apply to Hourly Jobs without a Set Rate" box is checked by default. Uncheck this box to only apply to jobs that have stated an hourly rate.

  1. Set your fixed-price budget rate. Jobs with a fixed-price budget outside of this range will be filtered out.

  2. Select your filter segment.

You must set up your Filters on a separate page. You can select a segment and fill out the Filters page later.

Use Title Contains and Title Not Contains on the Filters page to configure your filters.

Use a comma space between keywords for your filters.

Title Contains - Qualifying keywords where the job title or job description must contain at least one of the title contains words, or they will be filtered out.

Title Not Contains - Disqualifying keywords where the job title or job description cannot contain any of the listed words.

You can view which jobs the bot has applied to here. If you see a job you don't think is a great fit, simply update your filters and all future jobs will be filtered accordingly so that similar jobs will be removed.

  1. Add your message

Message

The message you add here is the cover letter. You can write different cover letters for different campaigns. Simply create additional campaigns with unique messaging and keywords for each.

You can view an example message here.

Upwork has started enforcing external communication. Rather than include a Calendly link, I suggest embeding your calendar on a page on your website. This will not raise any red flags with Upwork. You can see an example here.

  1. Fill out your default message. Upwork allows job listings to have add variable number of questions after the cover letter. This message will be the response to any questions asked beyond the cover letter. It should be something generic like "Let's get on a call"

  1. Personalize with AI - This feature is coming soon.

  2. Click "Create Upwork Campaign" and you're done!
